| My super-wonderful, super-smart boyfriend got his master's degree this weekend! I got to go to Wyoming to see him graduate. We had a really great time.
- More fun adventures in the Super-Walmart. Where else can you get a Subway sandwich, a hot dog, and cotton candy all in one stop? - Snow in May. Who knew it could happen? - Why do graduation gowns have wings? - A phrase commonly heard at the Dollar Tree store- "This is only a dollar?! What a deal!!"
| Piece of advice from our "Life's Little Instruction Calendar":
If someone asks you, "Do I look like I've gained weight?" The correct answer is, "You look great to me!"
| Liz and I also hiked the Redwood Forest in California this Spring Break. The Redwoods are the oldest and tallest trees in the world. Some have lived way back to when Jesus walked the earth. Crazy! The trees are really resilient: when fire comes, the outer bark can burn off and the inside of the tree goes on living. Can you imagine what wisdom these trees would have to give us from all they've seen happen in human history over that time? If only JRR Tolkien was right and trees really could talk. | | |
| Remember how when you were a kid and you looked up at a tree, you almost always analzyed it based on how good of a tree fort it could support? I never built a tree fort as a kid, but I definitely thought it would be the coolest thing ever. This Spring Break, my roommate Liz, our friend, Shelley, and 2 other friends got to live out every kids' dream! We spent the night in a tree fort 37 feet in the air! We had to use a pulley system to send our luggage up and the only way to get to the tree fort was across rope and wood suspension bridges. It was so cool!!!! There were rope swings, hammocks, a zip line, horses, pretty much everything you could imagine. A guy in Cave Junction, Oregon, really liked tree houses and started building them on his property. Now, he has a Tree-sort and each tree house is named something creative. We stayed in the Treezebo. There was also the Swiss Family Robinson, the Treepee and the Cavaltree. :)
